Geoff Campbell led the international business for a NYSE listed global equipment company, JLG, who were recognised by Forbes as one of America’s best big companies, serving customers in 50 countries. Reporting to the global Chairman for 8 years, Geoff gained experience in service delivery in a range of complex environments, in large scale operations, stakeholder management, strategy, innovation, change implementation, OH&S, and all support functions for a complex business. Prior to JLG Geoff worked in the off-shore oil and gas business with Exxon in various roles. Geoff has been awarded several international patents. He founded and led the multi award winning LiftPod innovation. Geoff is an experienced C-Suite Executive Mentor, with empathy for the needs of corporate partners, and the challenges in product development and commercialisation. He is a Fellow of The Institute of Company Directors and holds a BE (Hons1) and MSc(Coaching Psych).
Dr Hugh Stark has completed as a consultant over 1500 complex engineering engagements over several decades dealing with engineering design problems and mechanical design innovations. In mechanical engineering Hugh specialises in design for strength, and stiffness, including failure analysis, mechanical design analysis and laboratory strength testing of mechanical components and materials. Hugh has been a major contributor on Standards Committees for Pressure Vessel design and Portable Ladders design. He is also a sought after expert witness for major law firms, due to his knowledge and credibility and significant experience including intellectual property cases and personal injury. Chris O’Dwyer founded Machineability in 1994 and leads this associated business. Machineability builds a wide range of engineered products including mechanical Prototypes, Kinetic Art, Animatronics, Interactive Exhibits and custom built mechanisms and sculptures. Machinability’s client base includes JLG, many successful small innovators, Australia’s leading interactive Museums, SBS and ABC Television and Freeman Ryan Design.
Chris has lectured in Animatronics and Mechanical Special Effects at The National Institute of Dramatic Art and The Academy of Performing Arts Hong Kong, combining his interests in continuous learning with his hands on approach to innovation as a qualified Fitter Machinist.
Mark Armstrong is a Practice Professor in Design, a Fellow of the Design Institute of Australia and an inductee into the Design Hall of Fame. He applies a collaborative multi-disciplinary process of studio-based research to achieve design excellence and innovation. As well as a Practice Professor at Monash University, he was Founder and Director of Blue Sky, one of Australia’s leading design consultancies. Over the last decade, Mark has steered Blue Sky to meet new challenges in the Australian design landscape.
